CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

“If there is love in your heart and your mind, you will feel Christmas all the time”

Preparation for Christmas began with the Advent assemblies with the lighting of the four candles of HOPE, PEACE, JOY and LOVE. Each of the four streams got a chance to conduct the assembly.

To spread Christmas cheer, our school organised competitions and activities spread out over two days, 20th and 21st of December, 2024.

Annual Sports Meet 2024-2025

The Highly Anticipated Sports Meet of Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim, was held on November 24, 2024 at Our Lady of Hope Church Ground, Chinchinim, with over 700 students participating in a series of exciting events. The occasion was graced by the presence of Chief Guest, Honourable MLA of Velim Constituency-Engr. Cruz Silva and Guest of Honour, Director of John Paul II and Karuna Football Foundations- Dr. Kennedy Joseph D’ Silva, both of whom were warmly welcomed by the Manager Rev. Fr. Alex John D’Souza and Principal Madam Melba Vas.

The event began with the welcome address by the Manager and the ceremonial unfurling of the School flag, followed by a melodious rendition of the School Anthem, which set an inspiring tone for the day. The dignitaries conducted a meticulous inspection of the parade, and appreciated the students for their discipline and spirit during the march past.

In an electrifying moment, the torch was lit, symbolizing unity and passion, and was carried by the most exceptional young athletes of the Higher Secondary in a spirited torch relay. This was followed by the Sportsman’s Oath, a reminder of the values of integrity and fair play. Adding to the day’s celebrations, the School Magazine “Expressions” Vol.03, was officially released, showcasing the creativity and intellectual accomplishments of the students.

The audience was captivated by a series of vibrant performances, including synchronized drills, rhythmic dance performance and intricate pyramid formations, highlighting the students’ coordination and physical prowess. Exciting track events and a thrilling Tug of War competitions kept the energy alive, as participants gave their best to win laurels.

Ganesh Chaturthi Activities

To mark the festive season of Ganesh Chaturthi Rangoli competition and Ganesh sweet presentation competition were organised on 3rd September 2024.

Rangoli Competition was held in the school hall with total 14 teams consisting of 3 members each. The participants were judged by Ms. Jevel Fernandes and Ms. Suvira Mascarenhas on the basis of details and clarity of Rangoli art, colour combination, creativity and overall appearance and appeal. The winners of the competition were
1 st place: XI ARTS A
2 nd place: XI ARTS B
3 rd place: XII COM B

Inter Class Monologue Competition

An exciting day dawned with the ‘Magic of Monologue’  on 24th August, 2024 marking a new tradition in our Higher Secondary School.

The events began unfolding at 9:30 a.m. in the spacious School hall, as the student anchors Miss Beliza Fernandes and Master Sigwald Fernandes welcomed the Principal Madam Melba Vas and the judges Ms. Melisha D’ Costa and Ms. Basylia Maria Travasso.

Singing Competition

“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything” – Plato

The power of music was witnessed at Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School Chinchinim on 13th July 2024 in the ‘Voice of Mount Mary’s Solo Singing Competition’.  The competition began with audition rounds where 54 students battled it out with their unique voices in the Hindi, Konkani and English categories in which only the best five from each category were shortlisted for the finals. The judges for the competition were renowned singers of Goa, Mr. Elvis Mascarenhas, Ms. Assenca Fernandes and Mr. Benzer Fernandes. As the competition proceeded, the school witnessed a wide range of soul-stirring, impactful, fun, and delightful voices. Between the melodious and entertaining performances, the judges kept the audience grooving through their mesmerizing voices. Principal Madam Melba congratulated the singers for their performances and courage to take the stage.
