We are delighted to welcome you to Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School. As the Principal of this school, I look forward to another year of learning, growth and discovery. We focus on Holistic Education which is an amalgamation of Physical, Mental, Emotional, Social, and Spiritual growth where the students will have the opportunity to discover who they are, find their purpose in life and move forward towards achieving the desired outcomes. Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration

“Festivals promote feelings of social cohesion and communal harmony.”Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great joy and festivity on 16th September 2023.
Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival that marks the birthday of Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha is the symbol of wisdom, understanding and intelligence. Reflecting on all his qualities various activities were organized by the institution like ‘Sweet Making Competition’, Mehandi competition and Rangoli Competition.
The students showed their enthusiasm by actively participating in the competitions. Our Principal ma’am Melba Vaz appreciated the efforts of all the participants. The festivity ended with prize distribution.

Folk Dance Competition

India is an intricate weave of cultures each unique in its own way- its food, the clothing, the festivals, the dances, the languages. To display this variety Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School Chinchinim organized its Yearly Folk Dance Competition on 14th September 2023. This year saw 14 participating teams from different higher secondaries across Goa. To commence the program The Principal Madam Melba welcomed the gathering, which was followed by a prayer dance by the students of our very own school. The teams danced to the Rajasthani folk songs, Gujrati folk songs, Lavni, Gondal, Dhalo to name a few. The judges for the day Suraj Jaiswar, Snehal Suraj Naik and Seniel Da Costa had a tough time judging the competition. Each dance had the audience in an awe applauding to the mesmerizing performances. Towards the end of the competition Judge Suraj Jaiswar danced to the tunes of ‘Chaleya’. Whereas Mr. Seniel DaCosta had the audience dance along with him. This array of dances had to have one winner with St. Andrews Vasco taking home the rolling trophy. The compere for the day was Tr. Manusha and the prizes were announced by madam Melba Vaz.

AN OUTPOURING OF LOVE ON TEACHERS DAY AT MMHSS

September 5th, 2023 will go down memory lane and remain there for the teachers of Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School because it was a day on which love and affection were showered upon each teacher by their dear students. The Student Council under the guidance of the Principal and the support of the non-teaching staff and PTA members made the day a truly memorable one.

Super School Annual General Body Meeting

The super school Annual General Body Meeting of Chinchinim complex was held on 31st   August 2023 at Mount Mary’s HSS Chinchinim

The meeting began at 9:05 a.m with a  prayer service led by Sr. Flavia Vaz. The dignitaries were then escorted to the dais by Tr. Anna. Rodrigues. Mrs Melba Vaz principal of Mount Mary’s Higher secondary school welcomed everyone of the Chinchinim School complex. She addressed the gathering and inspired everyone with her words stating that ‘Teachers are the agents of Change’

Mount Mary’s HSS emerge Salcete Champions

Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, CHinchinim Defeated Fr. Agnel Multipurpose Higher Secondary School, Verna 8-7 via sudden death to emerge champs of teh U-17 Subroto Mukerjee Salcete Taluka boys football tournament played at Cuncolim school ground.

Gibbs Pinto scored for Mt. Mary’s HSS while Pritam Kattimani netted for Fr. Agnel HSS. Both the teams were tied at 1-1- at the end of regulation time.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Mt. Mary’s emerged victoroius
