We are delighted to welcome you to Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School. As the Principal of this school, I look forward to another year of learning, growth and discovery. We focus on Holistic Education which is an amalgamation of Physical, Mental, Emotional, Social, and Spiritual growth where the students will have the opportunity to discover who they are, find their purpose in life and move forward towards achieving the desired outcomes. We prepare students to face challenges, learn and grow from them.
The grand farewell function of Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim was held on 17th January 2025. The Ceremony began with a Eucharistic celebration where the students walked in with lighted candles and placed them at the altar. The Eucharistic celebration was offered by the Manager Fr. Alex J. D’souza. The Celebrant in his homily asked the students to be pilgrims of hope and work diligently and light up the world with their brilliance.
The newly built ‘Marian Cafeteria’ structure was inaugurated on 17th January 2025 at 10.45 am at the school complex. It began with the unveiling of the foundation stone by our Manager Fr. Alex D’souza and Our Principal Mrs. Melba Vas. To invoke God’s blessings a prayer service was held led by Tr Desiree and Tr Luella and their team.
The cafeteria was declared open with the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony by Fr Alex D’souza and Madam Ms. Melba Vas along with the dignitaries Fr. Christopher, Fr. Joseph, Fr. Victor, Fabrica members, Sarpanch Mr. Frank Viegas, Deputy Sarpanch Mrs. Sharmila Gracias and Headmistress Trudy Luis.
The 76th Republic Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 26th January, 2025 in our Higher Secondary School. The day began with the hoisting of the tricolour at 8:00 a.m. by our Principal Melba Vas and the singing of the national anthem.

Preparation for Christmas began with the Advent
assemblies with the lighting of the four candles of HOPE, PEACE, JOY and LOVE.
Each of the four streams got a chance to conduct the assembly.
To spread Christmas cheer, our school organised
competitions and activities spread out over two days, 20th and 21st
of December, 2024.
The Highly Anticipated Sports Meet
of Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim, was held on November 24,
2024 at Our Lady of Hope Church Ground, Chinchinim, with over 700 students
participating in a series of exciting events. The occasion was graced by the
presence of Chief Guest, Honourable MLA of Velim Constituency-Engr. Cruz Silva
and Guest of Honour, Director of John Paul II and Karuna Football Foundations-
Dr. Kennedy Joseph D’ Silva, both of whom were warmly welcomed by the Manager
Rev. Fr. Alex John D’Souza and Principal Madam Melba Vas.
The event began with the welcome
address by the Manager and the ceremonial unfurling of the School flag,
followed by a melodious rendition of the School Anthem, which set an inspiring
tone for the day. The dignitaries conducted a meticulous inspection of the
parade, and appreciated the students for their discipline and spirit during the
march past.
In an electrifying moment, the torch
was lit, symbolizing unity and passion, and was carried by the most exceptional
young athletes of the Higher Secondary in a spirited torch relay. This was
followed by the Sportsman’s Oath, a reminder of the values of integrity and
fair play. Adding to the day’s celebrations, the School Magazine “Expressions”
Vol.03, was officially released, showcasing the creativity and intellectual
accomplishments of the students.
The audience was captivated by a
series of vibrant performances, including synchronized drills, rhythmic dance
performance and intricate pyramid formations, highlighting the students’
coordination and physical prowess. Exciting track events and a thrilling Tug of
War competitions kept the energy alive, as participants gave their best to win
laurels.
