The Valedictory Function of Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim was celebrated with great excitement on 9 February 2023. The dignitaries for the day were the Manager Rev. Fr. Alex D’Souza, Principal Mrs Melba Vas, the Chief Guest Rev Fr. Jose Antonio Da’Costa, PTA Chairperson Mrs. Sharmila Gracious, Vice Chairman Mr. Valentino Barreto and PTA Treasurer Mrs. Ivy Ferrao.
In his welcome address Rev. Fr. Alex D’Souza praised and acknowledged the efforts of the chief guest Rev Fr.Jose Da’Costa the former Manager of the school. He advised the students to go forth and make a Difference and Shine in life.
The highlights of the day was the release of the School Souvenir “Expressions”, with great Pomp and grandeur. The Chief Guest congratulated and spoke about his vision in making education accessible to all. The Principal Mrs. Melba Vas expressed herself by conveying to the students, to make the right moves and choices, to learn from failures and to bounce back, for a better future. The students from the four streams voiced their sentiments, experiences and thanked the teachers immensely.
The students with 100% attendance and the Student Council were awarded Certificates of Appreciation.
The Std XI students sang their hearts out in a song and danced their way to happiness with a fusion dance. The Staff members serenaded with their melodious voices a farewell song for the students.
The climax of the day was the Crowning of the Prince and Princess which was bagged by Mast. Jude Rodrigues and Ms Memosa Barreto respectively. The contest was judged by Mrs. Melba Vas, Mr Kendrick Gomes and Ms Jewella Valadares.
Tr. Murial and Tr. Tina compered the function while the General Secretary Ms Grazia Furtado proposed the Vote of Thanks.
