‘Those who wish to sing always find a song’ was the platform set for the Inter class ‘Solo Singing Competition’ on 11th August 2023.
The student comperes for the day Mast.Maxson Pereira and Ms Annett Fernandes welcomed the gathering. The competition commenced with a message from the Principal Madam Melba Vas, which stated that ‘We are all small stars preparing to shine bigger’. The Judges for the day Mr. Pierson D’Costa, Mr. Voiler D’Costa and Mrs. Jonaf Fernandes were introduced and welcomed with a token of appreciation.
The competition was divided into three categories-English, Konkani and Hindi. Each category having enthusiastic participation. The singers kept the audience in a groove. They were accompanied by Sir Declan Pereira on the Keyboard. To break the tension of the competition the three judges performed to popular tracks like ‘Kaisi paheli zindagani’, ‘Claudia’ and ‘You say it best when you say nothing at all’. Sir Declan too performed a soulful song ‘You raise me up’. The following were the winners of the competition. The first place for the English category was bagged by Sherwin Fernandes from class 12 Science. In the Konkani Category Prinson Rebello from class 11 CRM B won the first place. Sandrick Rebello from class 11 CRM A got the first place for the Hindi Category. The winners were awarded with a trophy and a certificate.
The Manager Rev. Fr. Alex D’Souza congratulated all the participants and referred to them as the Stars of the future.
The event ended with the Vote of Thanks by Mrs. Luella Dias e Mascarenhas.
