Independence Day Celebration

India’s 77th Independence Day commemorated at Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim.

The only real prison is pure at the only we are freedom is freedom from fear.

The management, staff and students of Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School began the Independence Day celebration with the hosting of the tricolor followed by a short prayer service, thanking God for independent India and for the gift of Mother Mary on the feast of her Assumption into heaven.

Students put up a skit on national integration and did a character enactment of 4 national leaders; Mahatma Gandhi, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Bhagat Singh and Sarojini Naidu.

The Principal then addressed the students and encouraged them to be resilient and do all that it takes to achieve success. She stressed that they need to work hard, always keeping the outcome in mind and success would be theirs.

The Manager, Fr. Alex D’Souza touched the hearts of the students when he urged them to let go of their fears, voice out their opinions and become strong and courageous citizens and leaders.

The student comperes for the day were Ms. Cuen Fernandes and Ms. Tanishka Bhaskar.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Sir Declan Pereira.
