Rooted in Memories, Rising as One – Alumni Meet 2025

The Marian family finally grew big on 12th June 2025, as Mount Mary Higher Secondary School welcomed back its former students for the first-ever Alumni Meet, held in celebration of the school’s 30 Pearl Years.

The occasion also marked the official launch of the Mount Mary Alumni (MMA) group, a heartfelt initiative led by Principal Melba Vas to reconnect with past students and keep their bond with the school alive. Nostalgia filled the air as ex-students shared memories and witnessed the formation of the first MMA Executive Committee, a stepping stone to many future collaborations. The day ended with gratitude, joy, and a stronger Marian spirit.

Inauguration of the ‘Marian Cafeteria’

The newly built ‘Marian Cafeteria’ structure was inaugurated on 17th January 2025 at 10.45 am at the school complex. It began with the unveiling of the foundation stone by our Manager Fr. Alex D’souza and Our Principal Mrs. Melba Vas. To invoke God’s blessings a prayer service was held led by Tr Desiree and Tr Luella and their team.

The cafeteria was declared open with the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony by Fr Alex D’souza and Madam Ms. Melba Vas along with the dignitaries Fr. Christopher, Fr. Joseph, Fr. Victor, Fabrica members, Sarpanch Mr. Frank Viegas, Deputy Sarpanch Mrs. Sharmila Gracias and Headmistress Trudy Luis.

Republic Day 2025

The 76th Republic Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 26th January, 2025 in our Higher Secondary School. The day began with the hoisting of the tricolour at 8:00 a.m. by our Principal Melba Vas and the singing of the national anthem.

Inter Higher Secondary Folk Dance Competition 2024

“Indian folk dance is a rhythmic echo of the country’s cultural heartbeat.
Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School Chinchinim organized it’s Annual Inter Higher Secondary Folk dance competition on 29th August 2024 which saw an enthusiastic participation of 15 teams.

The event commenced with the comperes Tr. Desiree Pires and Sir. Ozie Da Costa extending a warm welcome to the audience and participants. The esteemed judges Ms. Shammie Rasaikar, Mr. Chinmay Borkar and Ms Astha Devidas were escorted with the beats of the traditional musical instruments, adding a touch of cultural grandeur to the proceedings. The
lighting of the lamp by the judges and Principal set the auspicious tone to the event.

P.T.A. Annual General Body Meeting

The PTA annual general body meeting was held on the 29th of June 2024. The meeting commenced with a prayer service by Tr. Steffi, Tr. Aida and the team. Sir. Jack and Tr. Pearl  the comperes for the day welcomed the gathering and the dignitaries on the dais. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Tr. Sadikha.
