As a part of mega science series of Vidhyan Dhara 2024, which aims at fostering scientific inquiry among young minds, a talk was organised in Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim Goa on 23 January 2024 in Higher Secondary School campus.
Among 112 students from XI Science and XII Science attended the session. Resource person for the session was Mr. Anchit Rasik Shet Parker, Assistant professor, Department of Microbiology, PES’s RSN, College of Arts and Science, Ponda Goa.
The session started at 9.15 a.m. with a welcome of the resource person, Principal and the students. Our Principal Madam Melba Vas also welcomed the resource person with a bouquet of flowers.
Mr. Anchit Shet Parker gave a brief introduction on the topic, ‘ Scope of Microbiology’. He introduced about different career option in the field of microbiology like DNA fingerprinting, Pathology labs, Microbiologist, research, Food and Beverage industry, Analyst, Paramedic, Post graduation, Embryologist, etc.
Mr. Anchit motivated the students to take up their career in microbiology and also introduced them to various colleges available in Goa as well as outside Goa.
Students were well engrossed in the session and they gained a lot of knowledge. The programme ended at 10.45 am after the vote of thanks.
