Teenager Workshop

A teenager workshop was conducted in the school for XI arts and Commerce students for the duration of 10 hours. From March 28th to 13th April 2023. The theme of the workshop was “Become Unstoppable” which covered various topics on soft skills. The resource person was our principal Ms. Melba Vas.

Management day at Damodar College

VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics Margoa had organised a state-level event for Higher Secondary Schools on the occasion of  Management Day on 20th February. The event comprised three activities namely; “Reel it to Win it”, Elocution, and “Team it to Win it“.

Folk Dance Competition

All Goa Inter Higher Secondary School Folk Dance competition was held at Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim on 22 September 2022. The competition commenced with the formal address by the Principal Ma’am Melba Vas. She also welcomed the dignitaries and spoke that ‘Dancing not only entertains a person, but also keeps one fit’. Thereafter the students of Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School performed a Prayer Dance. The judges for the competition were Ms. Ashwini Franco, Mr. Sandesh Mishra and Ms. Cecille Rodriguez. The participants of different institutions, dressed in colourful costumes, twirled around and set the stage on fire with their thrilling and energetic performances. The first place was bagged by St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Mapusa. St. Theresa Higher Secondary School, Candolim won the second prize. The third prize was awarded to Maria Bambina Higher Secondary School, Cuncolim. The competition was compered by Tr. Jewella Valadares.

Inter Class Singing Competition

The inter – class Solo Singing Competition of Mount Mary High Secondary School was held on 23rd July, 2022 in the school hall. It began at 9 a.m. with the welcome address by the Principal Ms. Melba Vas. The judges for the competition were well- known personalities from the world of music, Mr. Alison Gonsalves, Ms. Swizel Costa and Ms. Peviolla Dias. All the participants in the three categories, English, Konkani and Hindi performed extremely well. Mr. Jolan D’Souza accompanied the singers with fabulous music. After a tough competition, the first place in the English category was bagged by Mast. Sherwin Fernandes while Ms. Eviora Fernandes secured the secured the first place in the Konkani category and Ms. Melina Mascarenhas won the first place in the Hindi category. It was overall a well-organised event that was enjoyed by everyone. It ended at 12:45 p.m. with Tr. Muriel Pereira proposing the vote of thanks. The comperes for the day were Ms. Amanda D’Costa and Master Maxson Pereira who were truly amazing.
